Surprise surprise.....

In a national quiz/survey Florida finished 41st out of 50 states. Florida drivers are, in my opinion, the absolute worst drivers in the country and that this quiz has gotten it wrong. I have never given the finger to other motorists as often as i've had to do so in 2 short years here in Miami.

PS. Miami Sucks

Tom Delay and Law & Order

Tom Delay is quite mad with Law & Order: Criminal Intent for a crack that it made about Delay in on Wednesday night. Apparently while investigating the murder of a federal judge someone on the show suggests: putting out an all points bulletin for "somebody in a Tom DeLay T-shirt."
This angered Mr. Delay, i'm not really sure why seeing as how he brought this on himself when he said (about the Terri Schiavo situation):
Mrs. Schiavo’s death is a moral poverty and a legal tragedy. This loss happened because our legal system did not protect the people who need protection most, and that will change. The time will come for the men responsible for this to answer for their behavior, but not today. Today we grieve, we pray, and we hope to God this fate never befalls another. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Schindlers and with Terri Schiavo’s friends in this time of deep sorrow.

So apparently Mr. Delay is upset because the show highlights the fact that he has made threats on the judiciary. Well i'm afraid that this is just the kind of backlash that one experiences when one completely flips out and makes ridiculous threats on judges.

Protein bars....

So recently i've been eating some Snickers Marathon bars, particularly the ones that are high in protein. Today i happened to look down at the acutal name of the bar and i was quite surprised by what i read: Chocolate Nut Burst. I'm afraid it was too much for me to handle. Don't get me wrong i think that it is a great product only slightly oddly named.

29.4 Million people...well gosh, thats a lot!

according to the AP and Yahoo 29.4 million people turned in to see some girl become the new American Idol. I can only imagine that the other 6-odd billion people on earth simply don't care. I must admit that i am in the majority on this one. American Idol needs to not run past the episodes where they make fun of people.

Props to my homies....

I just wanted to put up a post that gave mad props to my homies. Andy Lykens graduated tonight, Erik San Julian will be graduating on sunday. Mad props, good work, congratulations, and junk. In celebration of your achievement and in memory of your days as a student which have, tragically, passed you by, i leave you with this image. This is both a homage and a sweet whisper of lost youth.....

Goodnight sweet princes....

No posts for a while....

Not that there has been a lot of posts on the old "Sword" recently but i'm officially saying that there won't be any more until at least the thirteenth. This is on account of finals and the massive hangover that will accompany the end of finals. I leave you with this image of some one studying. It isn't me studying but i'm sure that you get the idea.

This guy is kind of attractive in a "douche in the library" kind of way.....

Stand up for yourself poindexters!!!!!

I like evolution. no wait, i love evolution. I think it is definitely the way that life evolved on earth. There is some sort of weird evolution trial going on in Kansas. Which would be quite amusing to watch i'd imagine. But, there is an article on CNN where the scientists supporting evolution don't want to take the stand. I'm all for being above the rediculousness that is the "debate" over evolution but if one is on the side that has the mountain of evidence (evolution), as opposed to the side of "god must have done it because how else could it have happened?" (intelligent design), one should want to take the stand and testify as to the inherent rightness of you side and destroy the pitiful opposition to your correctness! VIVA EVOLUTION!!!!!!!

Lynndie England's punishment

Apparently Lynndie England's punishment, for her role in the Abu Ghraib abuse scandal, is to be beaten mercilessly by these two gargantuan women!

Peak Performance!!!!!!!!

Recently, an email was sent to UM Law students. The email included a link to this webpage. (If you have not yet checked out the webpage please do so now) I'm all for people trying to make a little money, and I can only assume that I will probably write some useless book that nobody is going to read at any minute, but please, a book about succeeding as a young lawyer that is written by someone that IS JUST GRADUATING FROM LAW SCHOOL!!!!
The name of the book is Peak Performance In The Legal Profession which I think is ironic mainly because: 1) he isn't a lawyer 2) he hasn't quite graduated from law school yet 3) he recently presented his "book" in Meredith's seminar (it was his writing requirement) 4) he has only been turned down by The Apprentice three times. The list goes on and on.
For further hilarity please look at how long Mr. Minard has been researching the psychology of peak performance. Yeah, you saw it right, 10 years. Now check and see when he graduated from Cornell. 2002. That makes him 25, give or take, which means that this guy has been "researching the psychology of human peak performance" since he was 15! It might just be me but the whole "decade" claim seems to be a bit of a reach. Honestly, he hasn't even been driving that long! Just for future reference all research that can be included in a book must have occurred after the author has reached the age of majority! (Exceptions include: Stephen Hawking......that is all).
Finally, Mr. Minard's mentors include: "Zig Ziglar, Tony Robbins, Ken Blanchard, Paul Brown, Donald Trump, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jim Ferraro, David Roehrs, Joseph Moriello and Richard Branson." Which I can only assume means that Mr. Minard has read the books that all of these, more or less, notable people have written. (I've personally only heard of 3 of them).

Anyway, I think that this is quite lame. I now leave you with this bulging, beef-cakey, pic!
